Walking the Plank

Anoukisse was out with her friends, raiding and looting off the coast of Timeless Isle, when all of a sudden, the crew turned mutinous. Her very GM threatened to make her walk the plank—though quite honestly, being the [evil] angel that she is, she could not understand why!

(Naturally, she needed an outfit for this pretend scenario that she thought up as she stood on the edge of (what looks like) the main mast. So, she called Brox, her little squire, and had him rummage through the bank for her, returning with the perfect items!)

Can't make ME walk the plank, Savage dog! /smash bottle

You'll never take me alive! /stab stab

Featured above: Sleeveless T-Shirt, Leggings of the Faceless Shroud, Knitted Sandals, Direbrew's Bloodied Shanker.

In all honestly, I felt that this outfit portrayed the dirty sailor, the shipwrecked passenger, the beached pirate, torn, dirty, bedraggled. You can really do a lot with these pants (if you're a Warlock—other classes need not apply), especially since you don't need to scout around for and store a matching belt!

The Princess Leia Saga

From one princesse to the other... Here's a unique way of displaying the now-famous Princess Leia-inspired bikini dress. Guest starring Mr. Grubbs cast as the evil Jabba the Hutt.

Alas, for those of you who didn't save the Argent Avenger from pre-WotLK, it's no longer available in game. Sorry! :(

Aye-Aye Captain!

Tee hee. I warned you! ;)
You knew there would be more pirate costumes. >:)

Here's a more somber set of gear inspired by the Admiral's Hat (which Anou spent days weeks farming for the recipe). Once again, this Warlock-turned-tailor poses in her dressing room for your admiration.

Not Just a Land Lubber

A More Distinguished Look

Featured above: Admiral's Hat, Embersilk Mantle, Balnazzar's Hide, White Swashbuckler's Shirt, Calico Gloves, Apothecary's Waistband, Apprentice's Pants, Buccaneer's Boots, Bazzalan's Blade.

The traditional pirate look is brought up a notch with shoulders and a matching cloak—giving it a one-piece look/feel to it. Admirals always have more to wear than their buccaneers, savvy, so your pirate is bound to evoke more respect this way. The red in the waist, shoulders and cloak also bring out the tiny red gem in the sword, which is a detail I really like.

Playing Pirate

Everyone loves a good pirate outfit, especially me. ;)  As seen in a previous entry, I have already written about Anou's pirate costume, but below, using items I mix and match with other outfits, you can see two very nice variations of the pirate theme!

Below, in her dressing room, Anou displays two takes on a red pirate outfit, very simple and easy to pull together.

Featured above: Outlander's Facewrap, White Swashbuckler's Shirt, Wisdom of the Timbermaw, Crimson Silk Pantaloons, Buccaneer's Boots, Uvuros Hide Gloves, Bazzalan's Blade.

Featured above: Outlander's Facewrap, Red Swashbuckler's Shirt, Apothecary's Waistband, Suppository Preventors, Buccaneer's Boots, Uvuros Hide Gloves, Bazzalan's Blade.

As stated in previous posts, the gloves are the exact replica of Black Mageweave Gloves. The white pants can be replaced by the Aurora Pants when you've got the boots on. Basically, anyone can look like a pirate with those boots! Also, any rapier or scimitar will work, and there are plenty gray and common quality ones that aren't soulbound, which you can store in your "Closet Bank"!

There will surely be more pirate outfits to come. One can never have too many options! ;)

Bamboo Grove

Darger, our very generous GM, has once again humored me in one of my dress-up doll endeavors—I have this whole idea about our end-of-expansion guild party. Anyway, you know how things get when the creative juices are flowing...

Featured above: Festival Suit, Knitted Sandals.

Anou has crafted a veritable army of Festival Suits and Festival Dresses, and has bought and gift-wrapped many a pair of Knitted Sandals and sent them along to willing guild members for our "end-of-expansion" party. We'll be doing an Asian theme and dressing our toons in Festival garb to celebrate the arrival of the Pandaren. The location is still to be determined but people are definitely getting into the swing of things!

If you're fortunate enough to have saved a Festive Pant Suit or one of the Festive Dresses during the Lunar Festival, those will also do magnificently well! Or, try running the new Scarlet Monastery instances for a chance to win Robes of Koegler. Then it's as simple as getting a pair of Knitted or Cross-Stitched Sandals and a hair cut and presto-change-o! Hello Mists of Pandaria! Welcome to Azeroth! Actually, it would be even funnier to pull a "geeky Asian" and wear the socks under the flip-flops ;) (Ringo's Blizzard Boots/Shimmering Geta).

Non-combat pets that fit the bill would be things like Pandaren Monk, Ancona chicken, Westfall Chicken, any variety of serpent, Dragon Kite, Festival Lantern, Lucky Quilen Cub, Lunar Lantern, Magic Lamp, Panda Cub, Tuskarr Kite.

In the Corn Field

Here's an outfit similar to the gardening outfit that could maybe lend itself better to a male character (for those too "squeamish" to be in touch with their flower-power). I have been farming Tirisfal Farmers for the sword that looks like a broom, but to no avail as yet. There was also a class-specific quest that Anou could have done to get a staff that looks like a scythe, but it doesn't seem to be available to me, something I will be asking Blizzard GMs about.

If you don't have the Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat, you could always opt for the Crochet Hat, which is a grey-quality item that looks exactly the same. Or, substitute for whatever hat you prefer. I think those two are the best seeing as they perfectly match the brown in the rest of the outfit.

Incidentally, I use Outfitter to sort my costumes and keep track of pieces. But when I took my screenshots for some reason, the Sleeveless T-Shirt wasn't equipped even though it's saved to my farmer's set. I posted a screenshot at the bottom of the page.

Pruning (Corning?) the Crop

Featured above: Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat, Canvas Vest, Knitted Belt, Gloves of the Messiah, Laughing Skull Pants, Soft-Soled Linen Boots, Amplifying Blade, Willow Branch. (Westfall Chicken)

The Amplifying Blade looks like a pair of shears in my opinion, but you can swap it out for whatever farmer-type-looking tool you can equip or find. I chose the Willow Branch in this scenario since it looks like a twig or stem Anou may have pruned off in the corn field.

Snip!

Toss It Into the Wagon!

The Gypsy

Ever since the new and improved Darkmoon Faire has come out, I have thought of putting a gypsy costume together. Don't confuse gypsy with fortune-teller--though I must say some of the tents on Darkmoon Island are definitely inspiring to stage a fortune-teller or other shady circus performer.

Below, Anoukisse and her pets are unwinding from a hard day's work at the Faire, a vegetable stew is simmering in the pot for herself and anyone else who may drop by--you know gypsies--and the evening looks promising.

"Just eat your peanuts."

Tribal Priestess

If Zul'Farrak was ever good for anything it was this little gem: Bad Mojo Mask. At the time, it was an excellent upgrade for Anou, and I wore it and displayed it proudly. When came the time to replace it with something better, I just couldn't vendor it. Back then I wasn't into costumes and WoW Fashion but I knew that someday I would be glad to still have (and wear) it.

A very, very old screenshot of Anou and Thoglos. Circa May 2008.

Recently, as I sifted through the tons of clothing in my bank, I ctrl-clicked and had an inspiration: The Voodoo Priestess. She is just pure enough yet just scary enough. I held onto the robes because they were soulbound but didn't really know what to do with them. This seemed perfect. The weapons were spur of the moment decisions that can--should?--easily be replaced. A torch would be the perfect thing to be holding in these pictures.

Featured above: Bad Mojo Mask, Spring Robes, White Swashbuckler's Shirt, High Councillor's Sash, Knitted Sandals, Dragonfang Blade, Basilisk Bone.

P.S. The robe in the topmost screenshot is so pretty, I am going to try getting it back!

The Specter

Yes, this is the Elegant Dress from the Noble Garden World event. No, I don't like it very much, probably because of the color. It likely has its admirers and probably can feel like a classic period piece, some may even feel it belongs in a wedding scene. But I feel it tells a different story...

Are you feeling it now? And the very creepy Charmed Cierge (also shown) is perfect for any haunted house effect.

Enjoy. /demonic cackle

Witch Burning

Cue Loreena Mckennitt's Tango to Evora.

I could not pass up the opportunity to put together a witch costume, what with the abundance of pointy hats and sparkly wands in game. It could also possibly do double-duty as an enchanter's work uniform. There are various color options, namely a red, a purple and a green of this exact ensemble, and countless other ways to make this very easy Halloween outfit.

Incidentally, Anou wore this at our Guild's first annual Hallow's End event, hosted by yours truly in Orgrimmar.

Pagan Rituals

Zapped her! (Neener neener!)

Featured above: Sorcerer Hat, Abjurer's Robe, Brewfest Boots, Nub's wand. Unfortunately, for lack of bank space, I deleted the matching cloak and can't remember which one it was. Sorry!

Shiver Me Timbers!

The Pirate Costume. WoW role-players are very fond of pulling together this type of ensemble, considering that there are many pirate ships docked in the various harbors around the World, as well as a couple of achievements that yield realistic gear and items.

Being the adventure seeker, Anou has built up several takes on the pirate costume over the years. But, I may have had a bit too much fun taking shots of this one...

Take THAT!

And THAT!

And this. Boo-ya.

Laugh of Victory

Featured above (and above and above and above):  White Swashbuckler's Shirt, Apothecary's Waistband, Simple Linen Pants, Buccaneer's Boots, Bazzalan's Blade. Equipped but not seen is the ever-handy Torch of Austen.
